Cigna Insurance

I currently have Cigna insurance does anyone know how long their process takes? When I had the lap-band I had Aetna. Also if anyone has had a revision surgery with Cigna if would be helpful to know how that process went so I can somewhat know what to expect. Thanks in advance!

My revision was with Cigna. My Dr. sent an approval request on July 14th and I had my approval letter in my mailbox on July 17th. Honestly 3 days. But it was all in the coding my doctor used. I tried a year ago with another doctor and Cigna kept requesting more and more information.

I hope this helps. I know different companies exclude different things. Most ins co will pay for one bariatric surgery per lifetime, fortunately my original bypass was thru First Health, so the benefit of bariatric surgery was available for me with Cigna.

Thanks for the information! I talked with Cigna and they stated all I needed was a letter from a physician stating that it didn't work for me and I followed all the guidelines. I still have all my information from my other sugery so I'm hoping this goes smoothly!
